The University of Tehran was founded in 1934 by Professor Mahmoud Hessabi. It is currently recognized as one of the top and largest universities in Iran. The institute is involved in extensive research activities, with over 150,000 scientific endeavors recorded in its history so far.

University Of Tehran Kish International Campus Admission

 

This campus was established in Kish Island to attract international students and offer courses in English, providing an international environment for studying. It offers a unique opportunity for those who wish to study in Iran. The admission process for foreign applicants at the UoT begins with submitting the required documents via mail. These documents are then reviewed by the Admission Committee and the relevant department.

 

Once the documents are assessed, approval is obtained from the Vice-President of International Affairs at the university, followed by approval from the Ministry of Science, Research, and Technology. Finally, the institute applies for the student visa on behalf of the applicant.

 

Master's Program Requirements:

 

  • B.A. or B.Sc. degree from an accredited institution (at registration time).
  • Completed application form (available here).
  • Two letters of recommendation (scanned).
  • Scanned copy of official transcripts (translated into English).
  • Scanned copy of passport.
  • Scanned copy of recent photograph.
  • Scanned copy of Language proficiency certificate.

 

Ph.D. Program Requirements:

 

  • M.A. or M.Sc. degree from an accredited institution (at registration time).
  • B.A. or B.Sc. degree from an accredited institution.
  • Completed application form (available here).
  • Scanned official transcripts (B.A./B.Sc. and M.A./M.Sc. degrees, translated into English).
  • Language proficiency: English or Persian certificate, or a letter confirming language of instruction.
  • Two letters of recommendation.
  • Resume with publications, certificates, skills, job experience, etc.
  • Scanned copy of passport and recent photograph.

 

English Language Proficiency Requirements:

 

Applicants must show proficiency in spoken English to study in Iran. There are several ways to demonstrate this, especially for international students in Iran who wish to meet the language requirements for their academic programs:

 

  • The applicant's native language is English.
  • The language of instruction at the applicant's previous university was English.
  • The applicant has one of the following test scores:

 

  • IELTS: 5.5
  • TOEFL PBT: 520
  • TOEFL iBT: 70

 

Persian Language Proficiency Requirements:

 

Applicants meet the Persian language requirement if:

 

  • Born in a Persian-speaking country with Persian as their native language.
  • Previous degree obtained from a university where courses were taught in Persian.

 

If not fluent in Persian, the applicant will be assessed at Dehkhoda Institute after registration. If needed, they must complete a Persian language course, which is considered a study leave and doesn’t count toward the academic year. If the score is unsatisfactory, the course may be extended until the second semester.

 

University of Tehran Fees

 

Tuition fees at the UoT are received in Euro and do not include accommodation, food, or insurance. The institute reserves the right to change the tuition fees without prior notice.

 

Non-resident international students in Iran in various fields of study are subject to different tuition fees based on their chosen subject clusters. For those who study in Tehran, the fees for Humanities, Social and Behavioral Sciences are 1150 Euro per semester for Persian Language and Literature, and 1700 Euro for other fields within the cluster. Students in the Arts, Engineering, Basic Sciences, Agriculture, and Veterinary Medicine clusters face a higher tuition fee of 2150 Euro per semester. These fees apply to all students who choose to study in Iran.
