Important Admission Information for International Applicants:

• For a Bachelor of Science: Minimum 60% GPA in previous studies.
• For a Master of Science: Bachelor’s degree with at least 60% GPA.
• For a Phd.: Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees, both with at least 60% GPA.

Note: Applicants can apply after completing their courses and receiving their degree, with the course transcripts included. However, admission is conditional on completing the degree or defending the dissertation before the semester ends. If the applicant fails to present the degree or defense minutes before final registration, the admission will be canceled. Important Notes:

Degrees and transcripts from foreign institutions must be approved by the Iranian representative office in that country or the embassy of the applicant’s country in Iran. Language Requirement: 

All courses are taught in Persian, so students must have a good command of the Persian language. If not, you must attend at least 8 months of Persian language classes at the International Center for Persian Studies.

Amirkabir University of Technology Tuition Fees

The tuition fees at AUT vary depending on whether you come from a Persian-speaking country and the course you want to study. For non-Persian speakers, tuition is $1,250 per semester for Humanities, Social and Behavioral Sciences. For Arts, Engineering, Basic Sciences, Agriculture, and Veterinary Medicine, the tuition is $2,300 per semester. Students from Persian-speaking countries pay less.

If you don't have course credits yet, the tuition fees are calculated based on a few factors. For Ph.D. students waiting for their Comprehensive Exam, you’ll pay 50% of the fixed tuition plus the full tuition for the semester. If you’re waiting for proposal approval, you’ll pay only 50% of the fixed tuition. 

After your proposal is approved, Ph.D. students pay full tuition for four semesters, plus 50% of the fixed fee for later semesters. For M.A. or M.Sc. students, the thesis tuition is the full fee for two semesters after approval, with 50% of the fixed fee for subsequent semesters.

When studying abroad, one of the biggest concerns is usually the cost of living, especially in a famous country and institute. However, in Iran, the cost of living is quite affordable. You can apply for a scholarship, and if you don’t get one, you’re allowed to work part-time to support yourself.

The cost of living in Iran includes rent, utilities, internet, food, and transportation. Living in a large city with all its amenities will cost you about $500 per month. If you share an apartment or live in smaller towns, your expenses could be even lower.
