Allameh Tabataba'i University (ATU)

Allameh Tabataba'i University is one of the leading public universities in Tehran, the capital of Iran, and the largest specialized institute in the country in the fields of humanities, social sciences, and management, with a foundation and history spanning approximately 60 years. The university is named after the renowned Iranian philosopher and scholar Allameh Tabataba'i.

It was formed through the merger of various independent higher education institutions, including universities, faculties, research centers, and institutes, which were gradually established since 1958. These were eventually combined into two university complexes: the College of Literature and Humanities and the College of Administrative and Commercial Sciences.

These complexes, each operating independently for over five years, were merged to form ATU on July 7, 1984, based on the approval of the Supreme Council of the Cultural Revolution. However, in 1987, with the separation of the educational centers, the Faculty of Health and Basic Sciences, as well as the Central Library, became part of Payame Noor University. There is an online portal for applying to ATU, where applicants who wish to study in Iran must provide personal information, academic history, language qualifications, references, and other required documents. Please fill out the form carefully. After submission, we will notify you of the outcome. Note that receiving a confirmation email does not mean you have been accepted. Once we have reviewed your application, if you are accepted, we will send your acceptance letter via email. After that, you can apply for a visa.
